Effective Municipalities Initiative (EMI)

Welcome to the website of Effective Municipalities Initiative in Kosovo.

The Effective Municipalities Initiative encourages, supports, facilitates and strengthens local and central government in Kosovo.

Citizens of Kosovo, as around the world, want their local governments to be effective in providing services which they and their families depend upon. To enable this, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) launched a three year Effective Municipalities Initiative program. The Effective Municipalities Initiative is implemented by Research Triangle Institute (RTI), an independent, nonprofit organization from the United States with a vast experience of working with local governments all around the world.
